Stephen Ministry Helps Others Through Hard Times

Do you know our church has an active Stephen Ministry Program?  We do, it is alive and well.

One of my privileges here as a staff member is caring for those who have an issue that could be helped with by an attentive, one-on-one, Stephen Minister.

Matthew 27:28: For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve other and to give his life as a ransom for many.

In Stephen Ministry, we are the care-givers and Christ is the Cure-Giver and that is an amazing thing, because it allows me to be His vessel.  All I have to do is show up, be there, listen, and care.  And pray beforehand:  “Okay, Lord.  I’m going into the trenches here.  You gotta be with me and help me.”  He never fails me.

And, you know, I’m different now because of that.  I truly feel that God is with me at every turn.  I absolutely trust God in my life.  Stephen Ministry has deepened my faith, opened so many other doors, and made my life so much more.

Stephen Ministers are laypeople—Christian men and women trained to provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation or separation due to military deployment, and many other issues.

Psalm 101: 1:  I will sing of your love and justice, Lord.  I will praise you with songs.

We will be starting a new class in January.  Do you think God is calling you for this ministry?

Pray about that.
