The PURPOSE of United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The United Methodist Women of Grove City United Methodist Church is made up of eight smaller groups, called circles. Each circle has their own unique personality, but all have the same common goals of creating and developing lasting friendships and to be in mission together.
The eight circles collaborate on mission outreach projects and on fundraisers for missions. In the process, we get to know one another, grow in our love for Jesus, and have tons of fun while caring for our brothers and sisters near and throughout the world.
A few examples of the mission outreaches that we support are:
- Grove City Food Pantry and Emergency Services
- Pledge to UMW mission that support local and worldwide outreaches
- Church/Community Development for All People, a national United Methodist mission located just a few miles from us on Parsons Avenue
- Westside Free Store Ministries
- Junior and Senior Youth Campers
If you are not already a UMW member, please know that there is a warm welcome for you in any of our circles. Please don’t hesitate to contact any of the circle leaders for more information.
